The purchase of new state-of-the-art bassinets is part of Iberia Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest standard of care for newborns and their families. These innovative bassinets are equipped with cutting-edge features to promote a safe and comfortable environment for both infants and caregivers.

The GE HealthCare HALO® Bassinest® swivel sleeper is designed with 360° rotation, allowing mothers to position their babies in the correct place for effortless access right from the hospital bed while still meeting safe sleep requirements. The HALO Bassinets were designed with safety as a top priority for moms and caregivers.

The HALO Bassinest is ideal for the recovery of all mothers including C-section patients, allowing for easy positioning without needing to twist or stretch when reaching for baby.

The IMC Labor and Delivery Unit has a strong commitment to family centered care. The OB suites allow for rooming-in where mom and baby stay in the same space for the entire hospital stay. With the new addition of the HALO Bassinests, moms and babies can rest peacefully even closer.

This new technology is the latest advancement for Iberia Medical Center’s obstetrical services.  Earlier this year, Iberia Medical Center, once again, achieved the coveted ‘Birth Ready’ Designation, awarded by the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative (LaPQC) for patient safety and performance improvement.
