Iberia Medical Center recently welcomed Dr. Wayne Lindemann to its medical staff. Dr. Lindemann is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician bringing years of specialized experience critical to the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and musculoskeletal system. He is serving as Medical Director for the Inpatient Rehab Unit at the IMC North Campus and is responsible for overseeing the care of and multidisciplinary approach to patients who have experienced a debilitating injury or illness such as head trauma or stroke.
Dr. Lindemann received his doctorate of medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1995, he completed his residency with the Louisiana State University Residency Program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Lindemann has been in solo, private practice in Lafayette since 1995 and is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. Areas of clinical expertise include post-acute care, long-term acute care and rehabilitation units. "The addition of Dr. Lindemann to the inpatient rehab team is another win for an already successful program centered on excellence in care,” states Dionne Viator, IMC Interim CEO.
The Inpatient Rehab Unit is conveniently located at IMC’s 600 North Lewis Street campus and features 14 spacious, all-private rooms and experienced nursing and therapy staff who provide exceptional outcomes and patient satisfaction. Patients experience state-of-the-art equipment and monitoring systems designed for the unique needs of rehabilitation patients.
The unit is the latest addition to the growing rehabilitation services available at Iberia Medical. The 9,000 square-foot Rehab Center moved to the North Campus in 2018 and treats roughly 80 patients in modern, spacious gym in the heart of the medical office building.
