ER wait times represent a one-hour rolling average updated every 15 minutes. ER wait time is defined as the time of patient arrival until the time the patient is greeted by a registered nurse in the triage process.
*Patients are triaged at arrival and are then seen by a physician (MD) or (DO) in priority order based on their presenting complaint and reason for visit.
Whether it's treting minor emergencies or life-threatening ones, the ER at Iberia Medical Center's Main Campus continues to meet the needs of the community. The ER's experienced staff of physicians and nurses works to ensure petients receive compassionate, life-saving medical care. With on-campus access to lab testing and imaging, intensive care and cath lab, the ER at the Main Campus is equipped to diagnose and treat conditions that require immediate attention such as heart attack and stroke, chest and abdominal pain, and serious injuries.
Iberia Medical Center has expanded access to emergency care with the opening of the North Campus ER. The IMC North Campus ER treats patients with conditions that are less emergent such as fever, headaches, sprains, minor lacerations and minor injuries. Ambulances will continue to deliver patients including trauma pantients to the Main Campus for higher levels of obstetrical care, cardiac care and the availability of other surgical quipment
