Current Policies Regarding Visitation and Mask Requirements

Visitors and Patients: As a result of increasing Covid-19 transmission levels in Iberia Parish, masks are required to enter the Main and North Campuses, medical office buildings and all IMC Physician Network practices. We appreciate everyone's efforts in helping to keep our staff, providers and all who enter our facilities safe and healthy.

IMC Staff and Physicians: We will continue to follow the CDC’s current guidance regarding masking and require all IMC staff and physicians, regardless of vaccination status, to continue to wear a mask at Main and North Campuses.

IMC's inpatient visitation policy will continue allow one visitor at a time during established visiting hours. Visitors may switch out and must be age 18 or older. IMC's full visitation policy is as follows:

  • Outpatient Testing and OB Outpatients: Patient and one asymptomatic adult
  • Inpatients at Main and North: One asymptomatic adult visitor at a time during established visiting hours.
  • Inpatient Rehab: Asymptomatic adult visitor allowed during established unit visiting hours.
  • Inpatient Behavioral Health: Asymptomatic adult visitors (one at a time) allowed during established unit visiting hours.
  • Inpatient Laboring Moms: Spouse/partner allowed and 1 visitor.
  • Special Needs Patient: (i.e. developmentally challenged) spouse/partner or family member.
  • Pediatric Patients: Two parents or guardians.
  • End-of-Life Patients: Spouse/Partner or adult family member.
  • Surgery: One adult for surgical patient (pre- and post-surgery).
  • Emergency Department: One adult per ED patient.
  • COVID-19 positive patients or COVID-19 pending patients: case by case basis.

We appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation with the implementation of these health and safety measures.
