Covid-19 Vaccine Distribution: Allocations from the State

Saturday, January 16, 2021

Iberia Medical Center continues its effort to manage and administer Covid-19 vaccine allocations.

IMC vaccine coordinating efforts are solely dependent on the amount of doses that the state allocates to IMC. Additionally, vaccine distribution from the state is extremely limited this week and may impact appointments.

For seniors already on the IMC wait list, this delay of vaccines from the state may impact when appointments are communicated.  IMC staff is working diligently to log requests for the vaccine and manage scheduling.

Seniors 70+ on on the IMC wait list will only be contacted as supply becomes available.  Eligible patients will be contacted in the order of receipt of wait list request.

Iberia Parish residents 70 years and older who are not yet on the wait list are being asked to send their name, date of birth, address, phone number and family medicine physician to covid19@iberiamedicalcenter.com . Only patients with appointments will be accommodated, and patients unsure they are medically able to receive the vaccine are encouraged to contact their family physician. Patients who submit information will not need to take any further action.

IMC will continue to follow Tier 1 guidelines and vaccinate individuals who qualify. We appreciate the positive feedback from our community as to the rollout of this initiative.
