Iberia Medical Center Experiencing Loss of Water Pressure

Iberia Medical Center is currently experiencing a loss of water pressure at both its Main and North Campuses, due to an area wide outage. IMC is working closely with Louisiana Water Company (LAWCO) and local officials to bring pressure back up as quickly as possible. In the interim, IMC has activated its emergency water supply plan and using its backup groundwater well.

Both Hospital campuses and the Emergency Department remain open for care; however, all elective inpatient and outpatient surgeries scheduled for today have been canceled.

LAWCO has issued a Boil Water Advisory for the following areas in Iberia Parish; all services south of Hwy 90 including the Port of Iberia, Lydia, Avery Island, Rynella and Hwy 14; Hwy 86 north of Belle Place Olivier Road into and including the entire Village of Loreauville.

According to LAWCO, due to low pressures, the water quality is unknown and customers should take appropriate precautions. It is recommended that water be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before it is consumed.

For more information on procedure cancelations, contact Iberia Medical Center at 337-364-0441.
