Iberia Medical Center (IMC)
today announced the completion of its acquisition of Dauterive Hospital from
Progressive Acute Care (PAC) based in Mandeville, Louisiana. Once the necessary improvements and
relicensing is complete, Dauterive Hospital will become a campus of Iberia
Medical Center and renamed Iberia Medical Center – North Campus.
"We are thrilled to finalize our purchase of the
Dauterive Hospital assets and medical office buildings. Today begins a new chapter at Iberia
Medical Center and a new chapter for healthcare in Iberia parish," said
Parker Templeton, president and CEO of Iberia Medical Center. "Together our combined campuses will
deliver the highest quality care, great workplaces, and an engaged community
partner. The addition of the North
Lewis Street campus strengthens our footprint and enhances our ability to meet
this area’s healthcare needs.”
While the next few months will be focused on a spring
reopening, all medical
office buildings and physician practices on the North Campus will remain
open. The North Campus will
specialize in short-stay and outpatient
surgery, behavioral health services, rehabilitation, imaging, lab, and other
future services.
Iberia Medical Center has transitioned
many prior Dauterive Hospital employees into open positions at Iberia Medical
to accommodate the additional volume at the Iberia Medical Center – Main Campus
during the transition period.
"Both IMC and Dauterive Hospital have
long histories of dedicated and caring employees, medical staffs, boards and
volunteers. We are confident that
our combined staffs and resources will not only lead us through the transition
period, but help create a best-in-class healthcare delivery system for Iberia
parish and beyond,” Templeton added.
