Iberia Medical Center Announces Appointment of CEO - Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Parker Templeton brings valuable healthcare knowledge to the position through his experience in various healthcare facilities.  Prior to his most recent role as CEO of Franklin Foundation Hospital, he served as CEO/Administrator at Iberia Rehabilitation Hospital, as Assistant Administrator at St. Maryís Hospital in Decatur, Illinois and as Assistant Administrator at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Templeton has a long-standing commitment to the Iberia community, having served as a board member for a number of philanthropic and civic organizations including the United Way, Kiwanis, Iberia Cultural Resources Association and the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce. He is also involved in several professional organizations including the Louisiana Hospital Association, having been elected to the Board of Trustees in July 2012.  In addition, he serves on the Board of the Louisiana Rural Hospital Coalition and Southwest Area Health Education Center.

Templeton is a board certified healthcare executive, obtaining Fellowship status in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2013 he received the Regentís Award - Early Career Healthcare Executive from the Louisiana ACHE.  He earned a Bachelorís degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from LSU Health Science Center and a Masterís in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Trinity University. He completed an Administrative Fellowship at Baylor Healthcare System in 2002. He and his wife, Carrie, have two children and reside in New Iberia.
