The Rehab Center of Iberia Medical Center will enter a new
era on Tuesday as it opens the doors of its new 9,000-square foot outpatient
wellness and therapy center at IMC’s North Campus at 500 N. Lewis St, Suite 110,
moving from its previous space on Iberia Medical Center’s Main Campus.
Capable of accommodating over 80 patients per day, The Rehab
Center houses a spacious and modern gym, an employee wellness center,
commodious office spaces and IMC’s same team of 10 licensed therapists dedicated
to assisting patients in regaining their independence. The Rehab Center will
also feature Acadiana’s only unweighting fall prevention trolley system,
providing gait, balance and walking treatment programs to the area.
"We are grateful for the the trust Iberia Parish continues
to show in us,” said Rehab Center Director Jacob Freyou. "We look forward to being
able to improve the physical health of more people in our community than ever
before.”
"Rehabilitation Services and Wellness is a growing program
for Iberia Medical Center,” said Parker Templeton, FACHE, President & CEO
of Iberia Medical Center. "We had outgrown the previous space on the Main Campus.
This beautiful new center will provide patients a conveniently located, modern
and efficient center. Moreover, it provides access to an outstanding team of physical,
occupational and speech therapists.”
Piazza Architecture served as the architect on the project
and Minvielle Davis Construction was the builder. $100,000 of recent Iberia
Medical Center Foundation proceeds supported the development of the
state-of-the-art facility.
