LPN/Medical Assistant - Nephrology Clinic - Full Time
This position is: Full Time
Position Location: Iberia Medical Center
Under the general supervision of the Physician Practice Manager and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Medical Assistant renders safe clinical care to patients. The Medical Assistant supervises, directs, and monitors the clinical care assigned to her / him. The Medical Assistant administers medications, vaccines and performs related duties. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. EDUCATION
    • High School graduate
    • Medical Assistant diploma

 

  1. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
    • CPR

 

  1. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience preferred, but not required

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, Physicians, staff, management, volunteers and contract employees.

  • Ability to triage patients, perform CLIA waved tests, administer vaccinations and injections under supervision of a Physician.

     

  1. JOB KNOWLEDGE
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and office skills
