Housekeeping Assistant Manager - Full Time
This position is: Full Time
Position Location: Iberia Medical Center

  • Directs daily operation of department; coordinates staffing, trains, and supervises department staff in compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Performs probationary and annual evaluations of staff
  • Follows correct processes for improving performance of staff and service delivery
  • Performs weekly Quality Assurance inspections
  • Develops and communicates staff schedules
  • Follows departmental goals/objectives, implements policies and serves on committees and task forces as required
  • Conducts staff meetings and training
  • Directs linen activities to assure proper delivery of laundered items for patient care
  • Manage hazardous materials program which includes EVS safety data sheet (SDS) oversight
  • Orders supplies to established par levels
  • Recommends equipment needs/purchases
  • Assists Director of Environmental Services in preparing budgets, work reports, and other administrative duties
  • Prepares reports as requested
  • Assists with departmental CQI program

    Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills
  • Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently
  • Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations
  • Exhibits competency in use of department equipment such as: floor care equipment, chemical dispensing equipment, scrubbers, buffers,
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Knowledge of required processes and procedures required for clinical environmental services related to disinfection, joint commission, infection prevention, etc.

  • Current Louisiana Driverís License
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

(Essential job requirements listed inbold)

  • Four years experience in a hospital setting
  • At least Two years supervisory experience in hospital housekeeping (or equivalent)
